ETTA MEMBERSHIP and PLAYER LICENCE APPLICATION
You may be aware that the ETTA are introducing this for the
forthcoming season. This is causing us serious headaches on this
first occasion, and given below is what this League intends to do this
year. This needs your co-operation as Club Secretary, and the
co-operation of your players.
For this season ONLY, your club should pay your subs to the league
as normal on Fees Night, which is set for Tuesday, 7th
September, at the Brotherhood, 7.30 pm. The fees payable
to the League will be the same as last year - £35 per team, £3 per
senior player, £2 per junior player. The League will then pay the
Player Licence Fees to the ETTA, £5-64 per senior, £2-82 per junior.
Thus, for this season only, the League will subsidise players’ ETTA
registration fees.
Each player must complete an ETTA membership
application. The Club Secretary should collect them & hand them in
at the Fees Meeting on 7th September. Any player for
whom no form is submitted will not be eligible to play in the
League. However, players who play in more than one league may
have returned their application form to their “main” league. In such
cases, the Club Secretary should inform the League Secretary at the
Fees Meeting. As far as we are concerned, we expect the same payment
for all players as stated above.
This arrangement for registering & signing players applies only to
players whom you sign on before the start of the season.
Separate procedures will apply for players who are signed on after the
season has started. Full details will appear in the League Handbook.
As you can see, this is not simple. This system has been
imposed upon us by the ETTA and as a member league, we have no option
but to comply. They have not been easy to interpret into
practical procedures, as they are involved & complicated. Our
Management Committee spent a long time in deciding what we feel is
best for this League this season. We have been mindful that we wish to be fair,
and to keep matters as simple as possible. We shall review the
position before the 2011/2012 season, and decide how we proceed as
from that year.
It is worth mentioning that we have not increased our subs for at
least 5 years, and during that period we have brought in providing
each team with a supply of balls.
If you have any problems with this, please get in touch. We are
still very much in the learning process, and the purpose of this
letter is to try to get across to you what we know & how we have
chosen to play it.
