“FULL SEASON’S AVERAGES”
Colin Stallwood and Martin Hogg from new champions Brotherhood B head the 2007/2008 Division One averages of the Clacton and District Table Tennis League.Six other players averaged 80% or better - Kevin Gowlett, David Binns, Alan Burgess and John Stubbings from runners-up Brotherhood A, Colin Webber of Nomads Panthers and Walton A’s Peter Burrows.Appropriately, the winners and runners-up of the Divisional events at the recent Closed Championships head the Division Two and Division Three averages.Gary Stallwood ended his Division Two season unbeaten whilst senior players, Phil Buxton, Paul Alden and Paul Woolnough, and the younger talent of Simon Smith-Daye, Peter Hall, Miles Vousden and Jason Gale, all achieved a top ten position in the averages.Jenny Binns and John Harvey head the Division Three list, with Angela Barratt, Sheila Howe, Tricia Salter, Keith Clubb, Rowan Ward and newcomer Duncan Dunne all averaging over 75%.But the promise is in Mark Smith, Daniel Prior, Matt Wright, Lewis McKenny, Caroline North and Ryan Thompson, six junior players featuring in the top echelon.The full averages are (qualification : seven matches and 30%) :-
