Handicap Analysis
Analysis of the handicap system used by the Clacton and
District Table Tennis League for handicapped events is very difficult.
However, the attached is a “rough and ready” analysis of the League’s
two main handicapped events for the six seasons 2004/05 to 2009/10.
The charts show how many individual matches were won by the “better”
player and how many by the “lesser” player. The overall aim should be
that “better” and “lesser” players should each win 50% of their
matches. This would give a broad indication (and it is only a broad
indication!) that the system is fair to all players.
